Natasha Day is an experimental mixed media artist, She creates materially driven tactile responses to the shapes, colours and textures of the natural world with reference to resilience, regrowth and found unexpected beauty. Details in nature that pique her interest are the overlooked and surprising compositions that the natural world reveals to us every day. Her practice aims to invite to viewer to notice these in relation to the importance of our understanding and respect for the planet.

If anyone’s umming and ahing about whether to sign up for a cyanotype session (or any other, for that matter! This was the second workshop led by Natasha that I’ve attended), dally no more!
Last weekend’s Cyanotype and Collage Workshop taught those who attended so much; gave us a host of ideas; and we all came away with beaming smiles and a spring in our step (as well as three pieces of work each, and ideas for many more!). Thank you again, Natasha, for your invaluable instruction and advice, and for running such excellent workshops! PS My cyanotype sensitiser kit landed on my doormat today - can’t wait to put all I learned into practice! :)

Brilliant cyanotype workshop! Natasha is a warm, supportive tutor whose passion for her subject really shines through. The workshop was very friendly, interesting and well paced and it encouraged me to look at things in a whole new way. I learned a lot and felt hugely inspired. Also love the fact that I have learned skills which I can continue to develop without having to buy expensive equipment. A real breath of creative fresh air.

I took part in Natasha’s ‘Intuitive Art - Freedom to Paint’ workshop at Artpocket on 16th June 2018, and I loved every minute of it! The workshop was fun, creative, experimental and very playful. I loved Natasha’s approach to painting, just starting and letting the painting guide you, rather than getting hung up on a particular outcome, and the idea that there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, just experimentation and seeing what happens! I felt completely absorbed and ‘in the zone’, and I didn’t want the day to end! I’ve always wanted to be able to make big, expressive, abstract paintings, but didn’t really know where to start. The workshop has helped break down my creative barriers and try something new, and I’m feeling really inspired, I’m definitely going to do more!

    Dear Chris

Just to say a big thank you for organising today’s fantastic workshop.  I
had such a great time and came away feeling quite happy with my work.  Just
so different from anything I have ever done!
Such a lovely mix of people.  Hope we didn’t leave too much mess.
Please let me know of any workshops in the future especially with Natasha.

    Kind regards

    Dear Natasha,

Thank you once again for another very inspiring and enjoyable workshop. I think everyone went home happy. There were lots of positive comments and requests to be informed of any further workshops. Do please tell us more about your ‘bleeding tissue paper’ and gelly printing as I think we would like to book one, if not both, in due course.

Well this week end painting with Natasha in Ely was a huge success.
As usual she got amazing results from a group of people , who , in 2 days shed their inhibitions and produced great works of which they were really proud. Each of them said they were so enthused and that they would carry on finding their way into more “gestural painting”.

Natasha is a very encouraging teacher and her painting workshop always gives a real boost to my sense of well being. I would encourage anyone to give this a go, especially beginners. Drawing ability not required, just a sense of fun and a willingness to experiment!
Just be warned that one workshop won’t be enough, this stuff is seriously addictive

Brilliant course thank you Natasha. You are such a positive and inspiring teacher. You helped to free me from years of being inhibited by fears of “getting it wrong”. How great to learn that there is no “wrong”; there is just learning. And what a lot we learned. I had no idea you could create such interesting effects from such ordinary household items. It was informative, relaxing and really good fun. Well worth the 4 hour journey, though I do wish I lived nearer so I could come to more. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful day at your workshop for our group at Necton yesterday!  We have all surely moved up a notch and into that other world of freedom and make-believe. Thank you for encouraging me to break out from the corset of reality! I’m now finally off the blocks with acrylics.

Absolutely fantastic day with Natasha. It was relaxing but also pushed you. If anyone is thinking of giving one of the workshops ago, I would highly recommend it. I have done two now and enjoyed every minute of both.

Thanks Natasha for the inspiration you provided in your workshop for my canvas Sotto Voce III.  It sold yesterday at the White House Arts charity art exhibition so has raised funds for charities Rowan and Practical Action.  Can’t wait for the December workshop at Ely.
